We’re proud to continue our support for Surrey Stands With Ukraine as part of our 2026 community partnership programme. The charity is a vital part of the local community, raising awareness and gathering donations for people affected by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
A donated space in the centre
When Surrey Stands With Ukraine launched in 2022, they began with a shop front in the centre. They have now moved to a 6,000 square foot hub, donated by Ashley Centre for Surrey Stands With Ukraine to run a donation hub and for their amazing volunteers to process donations and support the displaced community. As well as a branded market stall in Ashley Centre to use once or twice a week until October to raise awareness amongst the community and donations.
What’s needed changes constantly. Rather than collecting generally, Surrey Stands With Ukraine works from real-time information from contacts on the ground in Ukraine, and posts current priorities on its social channels. Medical supplies and search and rescue equipment are consistently among the most urgent requests, alongside clothing and other essentials.
Donations that arrive where they're needed
The charity is run entirely by volunteers, and 100% of the money donated goes towards supplies for Ukraine. No fees are taken by volunteers or trustees.
Since forming, Surrey Stands With Ukraine has:
- raised over £75,000
- shipped supplies worth more than £400,000
- delivered nine van loads to the Polish–Ukrainian border, with handovers confirmed directly to Ukrainian contacts
- built a network of more than 350 registered volunteers
Every donation dropped at the hub or made at the stall feeds directly into that supply chain.
Supporting local Ukrainian families too
The charity’s work isn’t only about what’s sent abroad. For Ukrainian families who have settled in Surrey, the hub and the stall are also points of contact. Places to meet others, find out about local services and support networks, and feel part of the community. Relocating because of conflict brings uncertainty, stress and grief alongside the practical challenges of starting again, and community-based support plays an important role in reducing isolation.

Next time you visit Ashley Centre, look for the Surrey Stands With Ukraine stall near Primark, or drop donations at the Ukraine Hub in Global House via the rear entrance. Check the charity’s channels for the current list of most-needed items before you shop.
